Nominations For Open Positions

Nominations are now open for West Virginia Music Therapy Association officers! Anyone can submit nominations and can nominate oneself or others. However, membership in WVMTA is required to vote or serve. Nominations will be open until February 28, 2026.

The offices open for nomination are General Secretary, Communications Secretary and Student Representative. Details of each position are below.

General Secretary: Two-year term. Responsible for taking minutes at all board meetings and membership meetings. Also responsible for maintaining financial records.

Communications Secretary: Two-year term. Responsible for email communications, including distribution of the newsletter, as well as maintaining the online presence of the WVMTA, including website and social media pages.

Student Representative: One-year term. Liaison between students enrolled in music therapy programs within the state and WVMTA. WVMTA will cover student representative’s membership fee during time of service.

Our communications co-secretaries will reach out to all nominees to confirm their interest and request a brief statement that will be included in the ballot. Ballots will be emailed to WVMTA members no later than April 11, 2026 and will be open for two weeks.

Nominations should be emailed no later than 2/28/26 to wvmta2024@gmail.com. Please include a subject line such as “Nomination” or “Attn Communications Secretary.”
